I will have a hacked PS3 soon, and I was considering using PSN only to sync trophies and game play-time (if it even does that). Would you advise against that? From reading threads here, I know using PSN is risky, both account and console-wise, but I was wondering if that includes logging on briefly as well, or if it was just for playing online/using the shop. I don't want to go through the hassle of spoofing my ID just for trophies.

Also somewhat related: can I use my PS3's browser without risking being banned?

Also somewhat related: anyone have experience with the application PSN Stuff? Is it legit and safe/easy to use?

Personally I use an Ethernet cable for PS3 connection. I'd only connect it when I need to use PSN to buy games and to sync trophy. Once I'm done I disconnect the cable. Haven't have any problem yet. Never play any game while PS3 is connected to the network.

My ps3 has been online for a whole year now.
Let's put it this way, Sony only check what you are doing online right now.
The only things you can't do are:
running homebrew online
play black ops 2 online(well you can but with some precautions)
