Why bother using .3ds roms when you can use CIA's? You don't have to inject your private header or whatever.

As for your actual question: I do not know.

    Maybe convert them to cia?
Directly from .3ds I don't actually know. I though you needed Gateway.

3ds files are for 3ds carts. Cia is what you can install on the main menu. As of right now, you cannot play 3ds files without a flashcart unless you convert it to cia

I just finished one of my 3ds's with the a9lh mod. Glad I stumbled across this thread bc I thought you could use both roms and CIAS. Dumping my games as I type.

You can convert dumped roms to CIAs.

You can use roms, just need to reverse engineer the system to install them

    You can't?

I heard some people talking about how Gateway is useless because of a9lh. I didn't realize they were this stupid. Modding games and testing them out is much faster with .3ds files, I don't know about you but I value my time.

Having to install that .cia over and over again takes quite a lot of time, not to mention going through all the menus to delete it again. With modded roms it can take over 5 minutes to install, repeat that 20 times a day just to test out some minor stuff and goddamn you're wasting time.

    - Convert .3DS to .CIA and install the cia
    or
    - Get a 3DS flashcard (Sky3ds+ works on any fw with or without A9LH, and gateway is getting A9LH support this month™)

Gateway is useless because it's much worse than a good flashcard

Not to mention having to go through the menus deleting the file again. Taking out the backplate every time for N3DS users or playing uncomfortably for the rest of the day is also a hassle. I'm not selling my gateway just yet, no thank you.

    Ha, as if.

Gateway is a good way to make your 3ds into a doorstop in just a few steps, I kinda need one right now
