Gaming How do you organize your roms?

Same here, with a custom filter to rename my ROMs to, for example "Mario Kart DS (E)"

I use NDSlist for my renaming needs. I put all my ROMs regardless of region and genre into a single folder and find my stuff using Rominator

NDScrc. Simply for archiving purposes. Change some settings to my preferences and set the compression rate at max.

Big ROM folder, sorted using rominator, not atm but usually it's like that. Then on the DS I've got numbered folder structure.

01_NDS For commercial games
02_Homebrew for um, homebrew
And some others for roms from other systems and a lot of havetobeonroot stuff

Then in the NDS and Homebrew folder it's, again using numbered folders, genre categorized, in homebrew it's just like Games, Productivity, Emu, Creation, etc. but in NDS it's FPS, Platform, Brain and so forth.

i have 2 folders, i download to a folder named "rom zip folder" then extract them to my "rom game and save foler" and thatd bout it

On my desktop, i keep em sorted by region.
File names:
Game Name - (Region)

I dont have the region if it's a USA dump though.
ON my ds, i just throw them all into one folder.

I keep a folder with all the zipped roms but I rename them so they only show the game name (no scene numbers or release groups) and the region in parenthesis (like this (U), (J), etc), additionally I place a + at the start of the filename of all roms that are currently not in my R4.

In another folder, I have all roms untrimmed for convenience, takes up quite a bit of space but until I need the space, I'm keeping them, so much easier to add and remove games from the microsd, oh I also keep a folder with my .sav backups and another named homebrew where all my homebrew (duh) is.

How do I organize my games?

I don't. Even my retail carts are just thrown in a small box that's supposed to be for cards.

After I get the zip file, I normally trim them immediately, and delete the zip file. I also remove the scene numbers and the (U) or (E) at the end. I keep everything I download stored on a folder in alphabetical order, and another folder for save files and skins.

I have them zipped in packs of 50 (67.2gigs worth at this point). They are preserved exactly as I DL'd them (it would be too much work to remove all the useless junk in the zips now....2800+ ROMs? Yikes!). Saved in 2 places on hard drives and also burned to DVDs. I just use GBAtemp's release list (in the Release section from the banner buttons at the top of the page) to find a particular ROM by name and number. When I add them to my flashcart I strip all the ROM numbering and region info (unless it's a (J) region), run them through NDSTokyoTrim and pop them on the cart.

Homebrew and various utilities for my R4 and Cyclo (and my slot2's) are just separate folders on the hard drive.

The only external programs used for all of this are the internet, NDSTokyoTrim and WinRAR.

Keep them in folders of 10 Rarred after taking away the release group info from the title, then from there the 10s are stored in folders of 100, 100s in folders of 500 etc. as starting to run out of HDD space i will start putting them on discs, more than likely in packs of 250, I never trim roms always keep it as the clean dump.

Download them, zip them, then remove the zipped file and folder and put the rom in a new folder. Trim the rom, rename the folder to what the rom is. Done. With the exceptions that if I get an (E) or (J) rom, I'll put (Europe) (Japan) next to the name of the game.
