Homebrew how do I use cheats with gameyob??

I'm trying to use gameshark and game genie cheats with pokemon crystal and I renamed the .txt file to .cht and when I go to load it, "no cheats found" appears on the bottom screen so a tutorial on how to format the cheats would be helpful... thanks in advance...
