Hey guys, just modded my console today, I have a black 32GB WiiU.

I'm using a 32GB SD Card, and I wanna use an 8GB one because I wanna use this 32 one for another device.

If I just transfer the files on the current 32GB one, to a new, formatted 8GB SD card, will mod/homebrew be affected?

And if I wanna install install breath of the wild via USB helper tool to play off a HDD, can I do so using that 8 GB card? Or do I need more space?
Excuse me if my questions sound stupid, I'm still really new to this modding thing.

I have haxchi installed, WUP channel, and homebrew channel on 5.5.2.

Thanks :)

You can just transfer the files and folders from one SD card to the other. That's all you need to do.

If you want to install a large game like Breath of the Wild, you will need an SD card that's at least 16 GB, since the game alone is nearly 10 GB.

I understand that if I wanna install a game on a HDD I need at least the size of the game on a SD card? Even if I plan on only playing it on a an external drive?

Your SD card needs to be able to fit the game in order to install it to the HDD. After you've installed the game, you can delete it from your SD card. Since Breath of the Wild is nearly 10 GB, you need an SD card that is at least 10 GB (i.e. the 16GB variant of SD cards).
