ROM Hack Others How do I safely unpack, edit and repack GameCube ROMs?

I was trying to modify Path of Radiance with the FE9 character editor, and every time I unpack the ROM, edit the files, and repack it, no matter what method I use (GCRebuild, Dolphin, etc.), it always comes out as a bad dump. I want it to be a good dump albeit a modified one so I can actually play it on my computer, but it feels like I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I've figured out how to make a good dump for RD, but every time I try it with PoR it just feels like it crashes when I finished the first intro. Help?

what tells you it's a bad dump, what is the problem you are having and how are you determining that? just the crashing?

My steps are as follows:

1.) Unpack a good dump of a ROM of Path of Radiance
2.) Make edits to the files
3.) Repackage using GCRedit or another application
4.) Tries to run it
5.) Runs into this glitch

It runs fine after I click through a bunch of screens like these, but it causes it to crash on my Wii U.

Does it work if you unpack the good dump and repackage it without making any changes?

I apparently did some research, and the tool is apparently bad overall. Nevermind, fixing!
