Hacking How do I play Split Games?

I wanted to play RDR but one file was to big, so i split it. Then I put it in my external HDD and tried to play it on my PS3. But when I boot the game off my external HDD it just takes m back to the XMB. What am I doing wrong?

Isn't it supposed to go to the XMB so that you can load it?
Go to the Game section and load RDR (it will have a disc beside it).

what i meant was that when i press on the disc in the xmb it goes to a black screen and then back to the xmb

It's not possible to play a game with a splitted file on an external drive. You have to install it to the internal drive, so that the backupmanager can rejoin the splitted files.
