Homebrew How do I make Citra run fast?

Here are the specs for my computer:
Lenovo Y50 i7-4720HQ GTX860M
3840x2160
16GB RAM
SSD 2441

Whether I use Citra or Dolphin, the Roms always run so slowly, that it is not even worth playing the games. It seems like I have more than enough RAM and the CPU is barely taxed at all, so are there any tips on improving the performance? Thanks!

There are some builds that run better than others. Try playing with the emulator settings to see what configuration is better for you.
My specs are: GTX1070 8GB, i7-7700k 4.2 GHz and 16GB RAM on a full HD monitor and citra runs at 45-60 stables (on many games... pokemon lags sometimes).

Same specs, But Katrielle and Fire Emblem are just unplayble at resolution x10 (Playing in 240p, brrrr).
Need to go back at native resolution to have something "playable"...
Otherwise other games are running very good, Bravely 1&2 at full speed, Pokemon too (except some lags sometimes), DQ is playable in resolution x10, but lot of lags in the map.
