thats the community code for mario kart 7. you can tap on the community tab after you press online multiplayer in and choose the option to enter the community ocde. if you type in the one on that post, you will be taken to the main community for ctgp7

Does it need a custom DNS, or does CTGP already patch the URL?

its just a regular mk7 community. by using ctgp7 and entering the community you will play custom tracks. you can do this in any race. the community is just a get together for people withit to play
