How can I put ps2 saves on ps3 using ps2 classic placeholder

Im having trouble adding ps2 saves on ps3 but when I load the game up the save don't pop up how can I fix it.

ps2 saves are in vme format. I think the ps2 classics builder with ps3 tools has an option to add your saves. I think you have to fix hashes iirc. here's vmc hash fixer:

iirc, you take the save, open mymc, inject it into a memory card image (.ps2), rename to vmc, use update hashes, encrypt as vme. however, I think apollo save tool can do it automatically. I've never used it though. it's an app for the ps3 itself.
