Hacking Homebrew on the 3DS

Question: Would it be possible to run DS homebrew on the 3DS, once the flashcarts are released?

Anyway, discuss what homebrew would be like on the 3DS once the 3DS mode is unlocked (3D functionality, extra processing/graphical power to use, analog slider/stick, 3DS's improved online, etc.)

Anyway, when it's possible, and I hope it's going to be. I will try to make some "hologram" like apps. You know, that it's just like your screens are comming out of your screen.

Could be a week after the 3DS is released until we will see homebrew or 3 years but only time will tell.

Remember though, 3D doesn't = to hologram, but we could probably get close to it.

While chances are that homebrew on the 3DS will require that someone hack into the system to start the chain of events, if Nintendo were to allow homebrewers the ability to develop for it under certain limitations and restrictions, the need for hacking into the system would diminish, and would therefore take longer for flash-card developers to create their products with no initial hack attempts made by the homebrew community.

The original post does not make it out like speculation. His first question is out right asking about something no one can know unless they can predict the future. If he left that part out and just went with his second question people probably wouldn't be so annoyed.

3DS homebrew could potentially be capable of a PSX or N64 emulator, so I hope it becomes a reality (and that it doesn't take too long after the 3DS is released, it takes time to port a good emulator

Well, the PSP has a N64 emulator, and it has minimum slowness. Some games even run at 100%.

So I'm sure that there will be a emulator.

I would imagine. The system is to be backwards compatible but some may need a bit of tweaking.

Nobody wants to hack the DSi.
If people actually cared and put in some time, it would get done in a matter of weeks.

When the 3DS is released, it's gonna be one of the top priorities of hackers to hack the software.

Who knows? Maybe homebrew developers will jump straight into the 3DS because of the possibilities.

"weeks" is a little optimistic. If caring meant faster hacks then the PS3 would be able to play backups by now.
