I feel like I'm really messing something up, because it won't connect.. I have port forwarded port 2001 to my smartphone (both udp and tcp), I put in the ip found in the android app on the 3DS and when I touch connect, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is restart the system as it responds to no button anymore. What am I doing wrong?

I can't wait to try this out on Android!

I haven't used it yet, but don't you type in <ip>:<port>? (101.168.912.012:2001?)

Tested on ironhax O3DS 9.9, works perfectly :D
Isn't there a way to use the circle pad apart as a joy? I need the sensitivity.

I did some more testing on my backup desktop. The setup looks like:
32-bit Linux Mint 17.2 static IP through wired network
o3DS 9.9.0 IronHax (Homebrew Launcher 2.1) static IP through 108.11g only wifi (frame burst enabled, Shortslot Override: short, and short preamble). It's the only wireless device connected to that AP at the time.
Latency wise, it's as good as any Bluetooth controller, or at least not noticeably different. I made sure it was under the most ideal conditions (channel with low to little interference and stuff like that). I tested it by playing both Cave Story+ and RetroArch.
Cave Story+ worked wonderfully with it. That requires some precise controls in parts and edpjoy passed with flying colors, for a wireless controller. I played it for a while and didn't have any issues beyond the standard issues I'll repeat down below.
RetroArch didn't register it at all. My guess is RetroArch takes direct input through the keyboard instead of from Linux itself, so in order for this to work, edpjoy would have to be detected as its own device.
The only issues I've had are the ones I mentioned before. The client freezes when I try to exit it on my o3DS and the server on Linux doesn't always work properly (button presses not outputting keystrokes) and requires stopping then starting the server again.

thanks for the reply :yay:.i will take to implove.

Are you planning on releasing the source code? I would love to see how you get your sockets working. Having trouble with that for over 2 days now.

i think not now

Just noticed that the mac version is up, wasn't when I last looked. Works brilliant, many thanks!

:gba:

Try this
on android
Create a portable hotspot (ip should be 192.168.43.1).
Press the start button

on 3ds
connect hotspot of android
Enter ip 192.168.43.1

if not,
try to create a server with edpJoyWin then connect by 3ds.if you can connect to PC that 3ds is available but the problem is android.

Finally got time to test it. It works, tested it with some steam games via moonlight. Simple games like 8-Bit Boy works like a charm, but games like portal won't work :/ The buttons work, but the sticks didn't work, so I could jump and shoot but couldn't walk or look at any direction and after a few minutes testing with portal and sanctum, the New 3DS freezes. Now my 3DS bugged me about a update, so I updated it to 10.0.0, maybe that is the problem? but then again, simple games like 8-Bit Boy worked really well, I could move using the d-pad or the circle-pad. Anyway, keep up the good work, I will try again later.

As requested, I'm attaching the Mac server, version 0.4.2, as the original link is dead, and there's no Mac version for 0.5 yet.
In case they're needed for compatibility, also attaching the cia and 3dsx versions of the 0.4.0 3DS client.

For me the big circle does not work somehow when using PPSSPP ( PSP Emulator for Android )

Device Android: Moto x Style v5.1.1 / Rooted / Stock

Device 3DS: O3DS v9.9 / OOT Save Hack ( Tubehax does not work anymore for me somehow needs update )

Both app and homebrew are on the latest version, is there a fix or this?

I have the 3dsx version 5.3 and on my rooted android device i've got the version 5.0
But i don't know how to get it worked...
So on my 3ds i click on edpjoy and i type in the ip that appears on my android screen
Do i need to add .2001 or :2001
because i can't find this key " : " on the keyboard in edpjoy.

No real point since movies are 30fps
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.

Mostly why you never see TV manufacturers going post 60hz

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Damn, only $2.06 and free shipping. Gotta cost more for them to ship than $2.06
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
That's where stremio comes to play never got a letter about it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just use a VPN, even give him my login and password so can use it also, and he refuses, he's funny.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I had to find and get him an old style flip phone even without text, cause thats what he wanted. No text, no internet, only phone calls. Old, old school.
