I respect that, but I think it also needs to be said the longer we try to 'protect' ourselves from something like piracy, the more we enfeeble the homebrew scene to the point where it's already losing interest in it's crippled state.

I think we should remember what our scene looks like. Homebrew is only feasible on 4.5 systems, which are growing more scarce. Of those people keeping their systems on lower firmware, much of them already have Gateways or clones. Hell, you need a DS mode flashcart anyway just to run the exploit. Piracy is already here to be frank, but now more than ever it's a distraction to efficiency too.

I personally don't care about piracy, but I think we need more tools in people's hands for the sake of a homebrew ecosystem that could use the extra interest.

Nice words !

Noone cares about SNES Piracy because it doesn't hurt anyone.
Will it affect super nintendo sales ? Will developers stop making Snes exclusive content because of rampant piracy ? Hmm ?

hurts VC sales.
the kind of people who would pay the kinds of ridiculous VC prices Nintendo have wouldn't know what home-brew was :ha:, only like 1 decent game on VC anyway :rofl2:....also they must not want the money or they would of pushed pokemon red out when the whole twitch plays pokemon was on , would of took them like 2 mins to plonk the pokemon rom on....they didnt even h ave to find the cart....they could just google pokemon red and blue roms :rofl2:

also i heard gta 5 on snes was scrapped when they heard that the everdrive was out

Do you mean SNES VC or VC in general? In case of the latter, define ridiculous price.

Yes and no. I think the main reason they didn't release Pokemon on VC, is that they don't want to make an 'incomplete' release, without the Link Cable support.

So no one willing to deliver an easy method or a detailed tutorial to run a homemade 4.5 cfw ?

The people who achieved it are either busy making it foolproof and documenting it or having ethical thoughts. Be patient, you'll be able to play stolen games sooner than you might think...

There is one thing being anti-piracy, and another being a complete dick about it. You appear to be the second one so far.

Sorry, I guess I should be more polite to the people that will ruin sales and prevent good games from being made and the cheaters in online games. After all, they deserve it...

yeah because flashcards don't exist.......oh errrr wait.....welll anyway, damn the online cheaters.....oh wait you cant play online .......errrr nvm

if anything go target your hate at datel....they allow cheating :O :O :O

final point, is that generally the people buying flashcards "generally" wouldn't be buying the games at full retail price anyway, so if anything it would at worst be damaging second hand sales.........which belive it or not the developers and nintendo don't even get a cut of anyway ......sooooo no loss to the developers or nintendo, but i suppose "damn pirate's ruining gamestops profits and having no real effect on the developers or nintendo" doesn't quite have the same ring to it :D

Yeah sure, like I'm here only for pirate games, dude I already own a Gateway, I can already pirate games, but well console hacking is not only about pirate games and if I could launch Yeti3D on my 3DS I'd just be happy that's it, and I most of the time buy games that deserve it...

I really find it intresting that people still care about "pirating" and there is already flashcards that can do the same. At this point there is no interest in keeping secrets
The antipiracy thing here is starting to be like an exaggerated bandwagon in recent months. I don't think it's a wrong stance to have and alot of hackers have hopes of someday getting a job and don't wanna burn many bridges, but if you start using it as a pedestal to look down on others, or maybe because you want to be friends with f0f someday, well, then I think it's sad.

The Wii U doesn't have piracy enabled and it has no games at all...same for the PS4 and Xbox ONE and PSVITA; pretty much this whole generation.

Although.. an entrypoint without hardware might help grow the scene! Although I seriously doubt there is one..

With entrypoint i just meant something to replace mset haxx. Not a completely new exploit. Such a new exploit would hurt the scene more than help, because widespreaded and easy piracy would lower the quality of the games and Nintendo has already enough problems. That's not worth it for just some homebrewers. Homebrew is dying. The security + technology get better and better and there are enough less complex alternatives. So exploits are used for 99% piracy.

I don't support this movement. What we do, are proof of concepts and remain concepts. If homebrew dies, then with a good end (or more that's what i wish, but there are always brainless idiots like Brickway wanting to make money with shady business).

Btw: The tool to build installable apps will be released, if it is ready. It's still in development and buggy.

Then keep it to yourself and just put it on your resume.
