If they could pass NDS roms from the GBA slot, how long will it be, before someone reverses it and gets GBA roms working with slot-1 solutions? I'd expect you'd need some type of slot-2 passcart though.

DSlink can do it if you have a GBAlink. In fact, any card/adapter (SC, M3, EZ) with enough RAM and proper SRAM could theoretically be used to load GBA files to (or a stripped down version with only RAM and SRAM).

As it stands though, the GBA emulation on the DS has absolutely no access to the DS slot/hardware (and that statement alone should tell you it has indeed been thought about... probably within days of the first unsigned DS code running on the hardware).

let's put it this way: There's no way to play GBA romz without having some kind of flashcart in your GBA slot. It just can't be done. Not physically possible.

Even if it was possible for the gba side of things to access the DS slot, the bandwidth of the slot is slower than that of the GBA port, so some games would exeperience severe slowdowns too.

Edit: damn typos
