It was rumored that High Moon, the developers behind Darkwatch and the recent crop of Transformers games, was developing a game based on Marvel comics. It appears that this rumor is true, but it won't be any Iron Man or X-Men game.

The game is Hit-Monkey, based off a recent series of Marvel comics that started in 2010. The series follows, what else, a monkey who is also a hitman for hire.

The only information shown about the game is the teaser image above. It will obviously be developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision as well.

SMH...let me guess, another low budget title with a high price tag?
All I had to see was "makers of darkwatch" to decide ill pass. Back when darkwatch came out I thought it would be cool from trailers etc.
After reading several reviews, I passed on it.
Unless this is a (yet unannounced) movie tie-in or xbla/psn fodder, I don't see this going very far.
Then again, maybe my kneejerk reaction to comic games is unfair. They can't all be hulk ultimate destruction.

You should probably play a game to form your own opinion. The game was fine. It had its more obvious flaws, but wasn't something that you should have ignored completely. Unless a game has to be insanely perfect, then by all means... Play the games that companies pay reviewers to give 5 stars or anything greater than 92... In my experience, the higher reviewed games, I found to be hyped and nothing else.

Transformers: WFC was pretty well received and there's no movie tie-in for this. I don't think I'd give up hopes on the game yet just because Darkwatch got less-than-stellar reviews.

I mean Rocksteady made like Urban Chaos: Riot Response before what many people consider the best series of superhero games ever (Batman: Arkham Asylum/City). Not saying these guys are Rocksteady or that Hitmonkey is Batman but it's just an example of how a studio can shine given the right material.

I love Darkwatch, I hope they ever get back to that. I'm not too interested in games based on comic books, but I'll keep an open mind and see what they do.

Darkwatch 2 was in development but got canned. Never played Darkwatch but the name rings a bell. I might check it out one day.

Hit-Monkey is Marvel's best new character of this decade. Good to see he's some time in the spotlight aside from a few issues of Deadpool. As for the studio, I'll admit I've never played any of their games, but I'm optimistic, anyways.

I have to admit, a Hit-Monkey game wasn't my first guess. Or my 500th.

There are two book tie-ins though. Both prequels to WCF.

I didn't want to post another story just in-case it may involve the same game here.

    www.deadpoolgame.com

A little less than 2 hours on the site's countdown is left. With the recent Hit-Monkey teaser, I'm thinking they may possibly be the same game....
