I'm trying to flash nandflash.bin + xenon.elf via usb on xell reloaded. The xbox 360e reads the files, but Does not complete he stops and restart to the black screen I cannot access anything in the xbox except the xell reloaded
I was told that the Xbox 360 Corona4g could only flash with flashing tools, or I could make one from a micro sd card adapter with a 68 ohm resistor like the way in the picture I attached, but I have a problem which is that my motherboard is partially different.
The attached picture has 2 parts, ( not the xell blue )
1: on the left is an explanation of my motherboard and what I'm trying to do
2: on the right is the explanation they gave me to solve the problem
Also, if the ( R68 resistor ) that I have inside the rectangle with the blue color on the right is compatible , and if not, what are the correct number and colors that should be on the resistor ?
Sorry if there is a mistake in writing, I do not speak English very well and I translate from google
thanks

Hi, I removed the picture with your MAC address.
I wouldn't post it on the web if I where you.

Unfortunately I've never home made SD adapters and always ready made ones.
Are you trying to flash the 64 MB partial dump or the full 4 GB?

First of all, thank you. I forgot to delete the Mac address
I do not know exactly what to do, the Xbox was with my brother and he updated the flash or accidentally removed the flash file, and then an error E79 occurred when it booted up with the red light problem, he tried to fix it by himself through instructions on YouTube, but he failed and now My problem is that I Cannot access anything in the xbox except the xell reloaded
I've tried all known methods and software or program to flash the nandflash.bin and updflash.bin And other files, but all of them haven't worked or detected. The only thing my xbox has read is the xenon.elf file The xbox 360e reads the files, but Does not complete he stops and restart to the black screen , I think there are no longer system files
thanks

If you are having issues with a make it yourself SD card adapter, you could always try one of these.
USA: https://weekendmodder.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=60&product_id=164
UK: https://chipchopmod.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=60&product_id=99

The resistor in the picture looks like it has the bands, Gray, Black, Violet, Gold.
If this is true, the value of that resistor is 800M Ohms ± 5%
If you are looking for 68 Ohms, you need Blue, Gray, Black, Gold ± 5% / Silver ± 10%
Verify here: https://www.digikey.ca/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-resistor-color-code
The R68 in the picture doesn't mean, "Resistor 68 Ohms", the label means, resistor number 68. It's for looking at up the value and type.etc on a schematic.

Now as for flashing, from my understanding, you can't use Xell to flash nand.bin's on a 4GB console as there is a driver (software) issue regardless of board model. You do need a tool. The picture you have for the custom SD is technically correct but I prefer this picture better.

Your picture at first glance, looks like you put the resistor on the outside where the adapter connects to the SD card reader. This one shows you having to open the adapter and soldering to the connectors inside.I hope you did it this way.

Lastly, where did you get your nandflash.bin? These are system specif due to the CPU keys. If it's yours from a backup, your fine, but if its from another console, then that would cause issues.

I hope that answers some of your questions.

Note you can use xell on 4gb Trinities, the nand is separate from internal storage, but they use the regular 16mb nand

Never used either of those before but I have heard good things about the TX SD tool.
It’s semi-permanent but might be difficult to install for some people.
As for the Matrix, no idea. Never used one.
Good luck with whatever tool you choose.

Also, I think the Matrix programmer is for 16MB Nands, not 4GB ones.
Check a guide before you solder this to anything.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
