Hi, I have read forums for an hour now for a solution but I can't find one.

When I open my settings, I get a message that the Wii settings are corrupted. I can't tell you what my firmware it is since I can't access my settings. How can I fix this?

is it an opera message, if so you have an out of region brick

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/System_Menu_Versions

if this is the case use this link to choose what system menu you want to install via wad and choose the ios that matches the system menu.
if you dont have system menu wads or ios wads download nus downloader and use it to download your system menu and ios.

MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE IOS BY WAD BEFORE INSTALLING THE SYSTEM MENU WAD. RESTART YOUR WII fixed

what error do you get?
When I open the Wii settings, I get this:
The system files are corrupted. Please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting.

does it look like an opera internet page error

No, not at all. I found out through bootmii that I have the 3.2E firmware

install ios 30 v 1040 wad then install system menu 290 wad (3.2 pal) you should be ok then, but make sure you install the ios first
Ok, I installed the IOS and now I'm installing the System Menu. I have a problem during the installation of the system menu, it's been stuck on 'Installing content #10...' for 20 minutes now :/
I'm afraid my Wii wil be fully bricked if I turn the power off now.

EDIT: It's been over an hour now.

Ok, I turned off my Wii and installed the IOS + System menu again. Now I get the same error when I boot. I can however get into the menu if I open homebrew hannel and then 'return to menu'.

your problem is?
when you boot your wii it goes to preloader and then the error message? when trying to load from preloader into the wii menu you get a black screen with the error code?

i thought you could load the wii but couldnt get into the settings menu (the one that configures internet/wiconnect24/screen saver)

did the error start after installing preloader???????

I have a jap wii with an out of region brick.Im not really sure about the firmware version but the game which caused the brick was ashes cricket and putting in house of the dead overkill seems to prompt for an update.I have homebrew installed....What do you suggest i should do to fix this semi brick?
