Hacking Help with r4i

I need help with my R4i gold, because my cousin updated my dsi and now every time i try to play a game a black screen shows up with: error has occurred. I already tried to download it again but it doesn't work.aah its from here R4igold.cn any help would be appreciated

go to their website and download the V1.4.1 R4i ds gold upgrade file
it should look like this R4idsgold_Upgrade_NDSL_V141.nds


put the file in root of your micro sd and use a ds lite or ds phat to run it, the update process should start..

for dsi 1.4 and lower use this file instead R4idsgold_Upgrade_NDSi_V141.nds

this will only work if your r4i gold is from r4ids.cn
I tried r4igold.cn but it didn't work, so this is assuming you have the r4igold from r4ids.cn

Don't try it you might brick your cart and it will become useless. Read this:

You can only use that cart on a ds lite or a dsi with firmware 1.4.

Well you have 2 options, either buy a DSi with system menu 1.4 or a flashcard that works with 1.4.1.

I guess you pretty much know the best choice.

If you dont have access to a dslite ds original or dsi (under 1.4)

Your other option is to buy a new flash cart

i know m3izero isnt that good of a cart but i put it in for reasons

1. its compatible with 1.4.1

2. some ppl(not me) want the extra features such as real time save and stuff

I also need some help. I have the R4i, (NOT GOLD NOR SDHC(red box)) just the plain R4i. Whenever i start it up, it just hangs in the loading screen.

I have a DSi
The website on the box says www.R4i.cn
Im using the Kingston 2GB mirco SD
I managed to dl the 1.60 firmware from the main site and got it working, but new games like Golden Sun dont work
Should i get the ysmenu? the link seems to be down though..

How does one tell which version they have?

You can find out the firmware version of your DSi by going to the System Settings (Wrench Icon) and the Firmware version will be displayed in bottom right corner of the top screen.
