Hacking Help with R4i SDHC Dual Core

I play pokemon soul silver, heart gold, platinum, pearl and diamond,
when i soft reset (L+R+START+SELECT) the screen just stays white and doesnt load again

I always use the one i said though, when my pokemon team nearly wiped out, i press those and restart the game. Works everytime.

but i get redirected to the r4 menu, can i still soft reset for shiny pokemon like that?

i though that was the soft reset ? maybe you mean real time save? if thats the case then i don't know since my r4 not support that.

i wanted to soft reset the game, not the r4, but the only thing that works is L+R+A+B+Y+X and i go to the r4 menu, i wanted to know now if i can soft reset for a shiny pokemon in those games i mentioned
