Hacking Help with R43DS, and bricking?

So I want to buy an R43DS, but I've heard rumors of bricking. I've looked and read everything I could find on it, but still confused about one thing.
Will I be able to update my 3DS with new firmware, and still use the card?
I know the card's come out with new firmware as well, but I'm not quite sure. I don't want it to get bricked or something ;w; its too expensive.
Any help would be great, and thanks in advance!

It's a sticky right in this section... there is no bricking. Nobody has ever had their 3DS bricked from using a flash cart.

If you update a DSi or 3DS's firmware past what a flash cart has been updated for, then the flash cart will be blocked (NOT BRICKED) and won't run.

Okay thanks :3 didn't see the second thread, sorry about that. Still a newbie at the flashcards, and the 3DS. Just got it about two days ago.
