Hi all, i have a question

( version 6.0 ) ( hbmenu v2.0.0 )

I am having an issue with using an ExFat SD card in my switch as hbmenu does not detect the switch folder

(i cant use Fat32 as i need files more than 4.0gb)

  • I have tried multiple sd cards and reformatting them

  • I have also been using files from https://github.com/tumGER/SDFilesSwitch/releases (but have tried files from other places)

  • I have had homebrew running before with success, it's simply that i much change to exfat because i need more than 4.0gb of fat32

(briefly one time my switch did seem to work with exfat and when running tinfoil i received error code: 2345-0031 )

Thanks for any assistance

Didn't you just make a thread yesterday here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/backing-up-before-messing-around-with-homebrew.519363/#post-8306118

Anyways, your console lacks the exFAT patch which you can either obtain by updating to the latest firmware while an exFAT formatted SD card is inside your console or installing it offline with ChoiDujourNX.

Also rather than making an entirely new thread for simple questions, please post them in the Noobs Paradise instead.
ok sorry will post there next time, thanks for the help :)

i have seen that others have seen the notification that A system update is required to use the microSDXC memory card

i did not receive this on my switch

does the advice that my console lacks the exFAT patch still hold true

To check if you have exFAT, go under the Health & Safety Information then scroll to the Error Codes. Underneath you will see several numbers. If you see an A next to #3, then you do not have exFAT support but if you see a B, then you do.

If you see an A, you will need to get the exFAT update as posted above. If you see a B, it is possible your exFAT formatted SD card has been corrupted. Either repair or reformat your SD card to fix the corruption.

1. How did you update? Through OFW or choi?
2. If you updated through Choi did you apply the exfat update?

(health and safety displays a B next to number 3) and i updated the normal nintendo way, i did not apply the exfat update. (also i have tried multiple SD cards and have reformatted) (both sd cards of reputable bands, fast speeds, and large sizes)

Try formatting it to fat32 again and inserting in your switch, once it reboots and sees fat32 then try again with exfat and should ask for it to download again if not and you have no problem to reset your whole switch factory defaults and try again, or you can try and patch it yourself if that doesn't work.

smokey flavor that reminds me of beef jerkey on top of a really rich kind of bbq sauce. Heat level that is a nice zing, not overwhelming, but it tingles all the way down your throat
