Hacking Help with ez flash vi AR cheats

I'm trying to get some pokemon on heart gold and every time I use a cheat that puts a pokemon in your pc party or through the mail man causes the game to not start and shows a white screen on start. Almost every other cheat works just fine so is it just the game card or cheat I'm using?
