In under 2 years Trump has managed to bankrupt the once profitable Kennedy center. After being installed as chairman, his hand picked board infamously addended his name to the building. A move which was later reversed by the courts.
The center now states it may close within the next few weeks if it is not allowed to add Trump's name back - a move which it says will come with additional funds from the president to stave off bankruptcy. Ticket sale revenue has plummeted this year and many artists have refused to perform and canceled shows.
The center, which was created to be a a living memorial to the assassinated John F Kennedy, has also faced threats of demolition by the new board if they are not allowed to add the name back.
Trump's head of health and human services Robert F Kennedy JR, nephew of the slain president remains a staunch ally and close confidant of the president.
