I used to test booting RxMode to see if my 2ds is compatible; it is. But I did something wrong now, and I need some help. I'm running SysNand 8.1.0 and EmuNand 10.2.0 on a 2ds ( of course...) And recently, upon using my browser for the entry point for RxTools menu. It used to work. I do have a Slot0x25Key.bin file. And It simply won't boot into RxMode, Fails to install the needed files upon opening. ERR -2. ( RxTools 2.6 ) The files are placed properly. But what is the issue here? I'm needing this to work so I may boot into DevMode to upgrade my 2ds to 9.0.0. Someone help me out. Please? @BobDoleOwndU Was kind enough to help out to their abilities; they don't know what causes the error. Neither do I... So, someone who knows what causes these errors...?

I know what part of the error is and is normal that the installation of the files fails in rxTools 2.6, you see when the feature was implemented, it wasn't done properly so the installation fails and it tries to install it every single time you run rxTools 2.6, this was fixed in later releases of 3.0 beta, so you need to update the firmware.bin to a newest one.

But I don't know why can't you boot rxMode, try upgrading firmware.bin and try again.

If it requires to run Python, what's another option to get the firmware.bin? I can't use Python. Rxtools also doesn't have a higher version. What should I do?

Your information in the matter is highly outdated, Roxas abandoned the project after 2.6 and left the project into the pasta team, have you heard of the nightly builds? There is no official 3.0 release, but they are higher pre-releases than 2.6 and the SD data installatiom issue was fixed there.

Yes, it requires python 2.7, you don't need to know how to use just have it installed and run firmware.py

I provided the firmware.bin file and can verify it was from the latest nightly 3.0 beta release and is not the source of the error.

But 2.6 doesn't have Dev Mode anyways, then he can try using 2.5.2 to update sysnand.
I've tried all versions between 2.0 to 2.7 all provide errors at some point. Can't. Just install this update in gateway mode...?

PastaCFW launches automatically in sysnand, you just have to turn off firmlauch, once PastaCFW is setted up:

"Start your 3DS, launch Ninjhax, launch PastaCFW (While holding the L button), go to the options menu, press A, enable "Disable FirmLaunch" and save"

    Only Xbox I don't have is the OG, and One X model specifically, I regret giving my chipped OG model to one of my kids years ago, after later hearing he sold it to pawn shop, damn kids!

    I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

    I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

    Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

    @Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
