Hacking HELP! R4i Gold (r4ids.cn)

I finally got my 2 R4i Golds from nds-card.com ordered on 11 july

The newest R4i Gold is supposed to have a v6.1 mark on box and sticker, but on my carts there is no.

i am running them on Ds Lite and Dsi 1.4.4

It shows up as "konami"

I try to run both carts without microSD and all i get is a black screen

are my carts broken? shouldnt it say "no sd card inserted" ?

also can someone tell me if a sandisk 8gb class 4 is good?

and

where do i find r4i gold kernel?

all i see is wood

someone please explain

You do need a MicroSD with the right stuff on it for them to start up.

And Wood is the name of the software/kernel you want to use.

What if I want to play homebrew like Pokemon Blaze Black Volt White?

I remember my friend had a "fake" (it worked) R4i SDHC and when it started up it shows MUSIC GAMES MOONSHELL ( the usual r4 clone)

but i heard that wood r4 is only for games no homebrew

also, could you PM me the name of a good "family restaurant" to find clean "meals"?

apparently wood r4 only works with clean "meals"

That's not homebrew, that's just a ROM hack. ROM hacks and homebrew work fine on Wood.
