If you stick to b1 you will be fine, it supports all games released so far and doesn't have any bricking code, b2 apparently has a bug that can trigger the anti clone code, but with b1 it's best to not update the emunand as b1 is not compatible with 7.x, I know many people will say MT is just as promising as gateway as it has multi-rom, but saying gateway delays updates as an excuse to buy MT is stupid, MT has been waiting for their emunand update as long as gateway has been waiting for multi rom.

Retailers cannot in any way, shape of form directly impact the likelihood of you bricking. This is wholly dependent on whether a modified or corrupted launcher is used. In these situations, any of the flashcarts that use or are based on Gateway's 2.0 beta 2 firmware are vulnerable.

As gamesquest stated above, as long as you stick to 2.0 beta 1 or lower (or any clone firmware based on b1 or lower), you should be fine.

I got mine from Teensy, they took about a week to get it from ordered to the door. Their cards are legit and should do as advertised.

Yeah I only waited 3 days from teensy, no matter how you look at it, it's still a lot faster than waiting for it to come from abroad, but I thnk someone said they are out of stock ATM

always nice to get a recommendation from someone on the forum though as its tried and tested the teensy site for gateway is reliable so all good but i cant find much for mt-card

My mind has blocked out the idea of other cards than GW at the moment, saw a YouTube video of the mt card and wasn't massively impressed with the idea of a hardware button to switch games... The microUSB port is a clever idea though. Not seen/heard of R4's offering much either. Just keep refreshing the damned home page of GW waiting for something to update!

koolio still looking for a good place to buy a mt-card. Recently had a guy from another forum sell me a gateway he purchased from teensy so just waiting for it but i sitll want a mt-card. ps i notice my 3ds is only a 3.4 or something how or what do i need to do to bring it up to a 4.5

Get a retail cart that has the 4.5 update on it. I think I used New Super Mario Bros 2 for this... Trying to find a list of games that come with this firmware, it's stored on the retail cards themselves and asks you to update before playing.
