Hacking Help - Pasta CFW - Attack on Titan CIA

Hello,

Due to possibly some new form of encryption once a user installs this cia it will freeze on the red 3ds screen after booting game. Some users have gotten the title to work after spoofing firmware and accessing e shop, then the game will play just fine and never have to access to e shop to get it to work (from what i've read so far)

I'm not having the same luck. Possibly because i'm using a N3DS? On 9.0 firmware.

Method i tried:

1. Pasta CFW
2. FBI - Install attack on titan
3. Reboot pasta cfw
4. Boot NTR cfw
5. Enable debug mode and Spoof firmware
6. access e shop (went to game page - also tried repairing.)
7. boot up attack on titan, andddd still freeze.

Any ideas on the matter my fellow community?

Go to the Eshop and look up the game's page then try accessing the game if not try running a repair on it from the Eshop.

Did you make the cia yourself? The only time I've ever seen that hang on the black 3ds screen is when someone aka me at one point forgot to inject a decrypted exheader into the finished rom/cia.

Well apparently it's an issue even with the .3ds version. But no i didn't make it myself. Other users have gotten it working i believe.

pretty sures its not going to work on anything except 9.5, although 3Dbrew says the newer encryption method was only added in 9.6, the OP said he got it working on 9.5 after i explained about the "seed" encryption method that is now being used....either i got the wrong end of the stick and its not the 9.6 encryption method in play or it was actually enabled in 9.5

I think it's best explained like this:
I have a 4.5 O3DS...
I have Smash Bros...
I can put Smash Bros in the 3DS...
But I can't play it until I update...

Probably the same circumstances with you, just replace 4.5 with 9.0 and Smash Bros with Attack on Titan.
I think it's because AoT relies on 9.5/9.6 and up due to encryption like others have said. Best thing to do is to wait Soon™ I know you're probably sick of that joke, but the point is you should wait for N3DS 9.6 and up EmuNAND support so that Pasta can be updated and you can play Attack on Titan... It's a good game from what I've played (JP VERSION)
NOTE: I am aware of it using SysNAND, I am saying it can use the keys to crack the 9.5/9.6 and up encryption to effectively spoof that for use on all 9.X firmware. No guarantee if and when it will happen, but it may happen when we least expect it! Never lose hope!

Oh so that was you who PM'd me on that "name to not be spoken" site . It may be possible the "seed" is 9.6 encryption, but it might be that putting that "seed" in 9.5 enabled the game to work. Who knows?

Since I can't seem to get anybody to send me their emunand and fat16 xorpad so I can test, will you be willing to test if that file enables the game on your N3DS (I assume you have one)? I don't want to give it to anybody else or make it public yet in case they brick their 3DS and then blame me for it.

I have a O3ds on 9.7 Emunand with same issue, any ideas?

so people with N3DS should stop trying cause they are boned until Gateway releases a EMUNAND fix for N3DS

Lucky for me I got my old 3DS XL so....yeah.

EDIT: Works fine on O3DS on newest 9.7 EMUNAND. Something that allows the new games to work is on 9.7 that's not on the older firmwares. No eshop spoofing is going to fix this. N3DS users need to wait on Gatewait.Or use their o3DS for these "eshop activated" games in the meantime.

I have a great fix for the people who have knowhow to inject files into their nands. I want to test it to make sure it works before getting everybody's hopes up.

I need an individual who is having trouble with this game and has a NA region 3DS to give me a copy of their emunand and a fat16 xorpad (if they can send me a copy of the fat16 partition, that would be great. The best situation would be a fat16 partition that's already decrypted). I would prefer a New 3DS emunand because people with this are the restricted the most from playing the game as they can't access the eshop from the outdated emunands. Also, found out I was able to it to run on a 9.5U emunand, so updating to the newest 9.7 firmware is not needed unless you want to do the eshop fix.

only works on o3DS so the tedious method is pointless with the eShop exploit also being avaliable
