You have to run FreeMultiPatcher.

So it downloaded fine in rxMode sysNAND, but after restating the system Youtube wont start, and the eShop is throwing me an update screen.

Maybe try booting rxDevmode?
As far as i'm aware Youtube app hasn't been altered on the e-shop.

Honestly, MSET and Sipder would be way easier. With sysupdater and rxtools you can make both work

Probably easier but riskier (If for whatever reason install goes wrong / wrong file installed) - Need of internet connection.

Personally i'd go with Mset though.

Yeah, I'm gonna try reinstalling 6.x mset.

Just be sure never to format your 2ds if you have 6.x MSET installed, as i believe it leads to a softbrick

I read it was 4.x that bricked, and that's why 2DS's are supposed to use 6.x.

Trying devMode now, MSET install was good but I still want Youtube because reasons.

Quick question. Are you launching Youtube with your internet connections DNS set to: 107.211.140.065 ?

Well I can't even launch youtube for starters, in a cold booted sysnand youtube won't launch and "needs to be redownloaded from the eShop", which will ask me to update because freemultipatcher only works on security-patched instances of the homemenu.
