Hacking Help moding my Sony PS Vita PCH-1000 OLED 3.52 firmware

Just bought it off Ebay and wanted to know what I should do next.
Also bought a SD2Vita 5.0 Memory Card and a 256GB Micro Memory Card.
I've looked at a lot of modding video tutorials online, and I'm a little confused to say the least. Some videos are years old,
should I update to 3.60 or 3.73 firmware? Any advice or good video tutorials you guys can recommend would be greatly appreciated.
