Rename this .FIRM file.
  • GodMode9.firmboot.firm

Replace the copy on the root of SD card.
  • sdmc:/boot.firm
Insert SD card into o3DSXL and turn the system on. GodMode9 should open now. Continue from step 8.

Oh? The o3DSXL finally boots to HOME Menu?

You switched the sdmc:/boot.firm back to Luma3DS v10.2, right?

Are you able to boot GodMode9 through Luma3DS chainloader?
  1. sdmc:/luma/payloads/
    • GodMode9.firm
    • SafeB9SInstaller.firm
  2. Turn on o3DSXL → hold (START) button → GodMode9.

You can ignore the picture with the kitty and puppy in how to Rosalina menu inject Homebrew launcher to a system title.
  1. GodMode9 → (HOME) button → Scripts...CTRTransfer (Type D9)Inject HBL to Camera.
  2. Exit → press (START) button to exit GodMode9 → HOME Menu → Nintendo 3DS Camera
  3. Homebrew Launcher; continue at step 12.

@sergej

1. Öffnen Sie Download Play
2. Drücken Sie L + Down + Select
3. Gehen Sie zu "Miscellaneous Options".
4. Wähle “Switch the hb. title to the current app.”
5. Drücken Sie dreimal B.
6. Drücken Sie Home und schließen Sie Download Play
7. Öffnen Sie Download Play erneut

Englisch / English

If you've followed every step until Section III of Finalizing Setup and are not able to access homebrew, then I believe you also need Homebrew Menu v2.2.0 from here (download the boot.3dsx and put it on your SD root). I have no idea why the guide no longer mentions it.

After putting it on your SD card, do the following:

1. Open Download Play
2. Press L + Down + Select
3. Go to 'Miscellaneous Options'
4. Choose "Switch the hb. title to the current app."
5. Press B 3 times
6. Press Home and close Download Play
7. Re-open Download Play

This next part not directed at you, @sergej.

@TurdPooCharger is hbmenu now included in the Homebrew Starter Kit or something, or is it included within the Luma boot.firm? It is weird, because the HBSK isn't mentioned until the next step, which makes the guide seem incomplete in that regard.

The CFW starter kit has always included boot.3dsx ( new-hbmenu / Homebrew Launcher ). You can check the Update Changes Log to review what else is included in the kit.

Because some people have a difficult time manually downloading the individual files at their GitHub sources and not know putting what exactly to where on the SD card, I added the link to the CFW starter kit as a cheat or lifeline...

@sergej should not be skipping ahead to Finalizing Setup because he's not done fixing his o3DSXL's 3DS firmware yet.

CTRTransfer (Type D9) was supposed to automatically Rosalina menu inject Homebrew Launcher to Nintendo 3DS Camera. The reason that failed the first time was because he replaced the sdmc:/boot.firm (Luma3DS) with GodMode9 renamed as the boot.firm. No Luma3DS means no sdmc:/luma/config.bin is made. Without the config.bin in place, the script won't edit the proper regional camera TitleID injection path.

Also, those who have trouble with the early preparation steps in the Instructions tend to have a hard time grasping how to Rosalina menu inject HBL to a system title. I hate to say it, but I rather have anyone who hasn't properly learned how to do so to go back to the script and let the Inject HBL to Camera function do it for them.

Only after completing all steps 1–16 (or 17 depending), then does that person does the Finalizing Setup and learn how to actually Rosalina menu inject HBL on their time.

Actually, yes, it is included with Luma now (but not in boot.firm), you can see it mentioned on the Releases page.

Did you launch the camera app to see if it opens homebrew for you?

Don't follow the steps given by @MarcusCarter.

Inject HBL to Camera
sets the Homebrew Launcher on Nintendo 3DS Camera, not Download Play.

You can later change the injection to a different system title after the o3DSXL's 3DS firmware is fully repaired.
