Hacking Help me with Rom loading failure!

Hi to everybody!

I have a DSI XL V 1.4 e and an R4i Revolution (clone) blue (www.r4i-blue.com). I updated it downloading the kernel from the site, but some games do not work while others (just a few) do.
As soon as I bought the card (last year) it worked well and just very few games did not work. Then one of my friends asked me to download the kernel and the games for his R4i gold (clone) and I tested it to my DSi just to see if it worked. In the meanwhile, the flashcard fell down and it opened.
After then I had my problem with the card. I bought also a new micro SD. I have no doubts on the flashcard because some games work, otherwise it did not work at all!
What I have to do?
I want to point out that I am not so good with computer things, so please be clear in giving your reply

i suggest you to change flashcard, better R4iDs.cn gold or buy acekard 2i

As you saw in download section latest firmware is Date: 2011-1-16
This blue card is dstt clone so updating 4 files should solve games incomatibility.

usrcheat.dat
are stored in msd / TTMenu
Download latest RetroGameFan-DAT-Update-6-71

Extract zip file, copy-paste 4 .dst files to TTMenu folder.

If it doesn't help follow the zhuzhuchina suggestions considering the fact that ak2i and gold r4idsn are compatibile with latest dsi 1.4.3 OS.

I downloaded the file but I cannot extract any zip file. it is in .exe file. Also I do not have the dat files you mentioned in my TTMenu. What I have to do???

Looking at microSD you should see:

Those 4 files red makred are out of date and must be replaced with newest version.

Then I replaced the dat files with the update file you gave me and now when I choose a game it seems it is loading as usual but instead of the game it appears a white screen (both the two screens) Also the games that till now was working now doen not. Download the Italian version of the latest kernel from the www.r4i-blue.com site so that then you are at least back to where you started.

It may be that your cart is incompatible with RetroGameFans Multi Cart update in which case you will be better off buying a new cart as yours hasn't been updated for nearly 10 months and has more than likely been abandoned which means you will not be able to play any recent games. I suggest you get either a R4i Gold cart with www.r4ids.cn or www.r4idsn.com or an AceKArd 2i then you will have a cart with much better game compatibility.

The Chinese files from www.r4i-blue.com are the same as the Italian files from that site apart from the language.

The problem is not with the games the problem is because you have a cheap R4i that has been abandoned by the manufacturer in a short space of time and so is not being updated to allow you to play newer games.

The fact your cart is just a year old doesn't matter. There are many people who have been burned by buying a cheap cart only for it to be abandoned quickly by the manufacturer. This is why you should look for recommendations of a flashcart before you buy them rather than just looking at price.

Ok. So it's better to make a good expense one time before spending few money more times. The problem is that I am completely new with console and something like that (it's just for my daughter..) and I bought the flashcart I have from Internet complete with games and software. Only after few weeks, when I approached to the world of downloading games I discovered it was a so-called clone! So do you suggest to go to an official seller of R4 or the sites you gave me are the "cheaper" reseller? (I've noticed they are still Chinese) and so I find them in other "shops"?

There are many shops that you could go to but try the ones on ShopTemp as they are usually quite good However there may be cheaper or more convenient shops in Italy.

I suggest you get either a R4i Gold cart by www.r4ids.cn or www.r4idsn.com or an AceKard 2i as these are reasonably priced, good quality carts.
