Help me understand "autism"

I don't think being diagnosed with Asperger's would be 'trendy'. But I am interested in the free money I get off the government for it But seriously, I'm being diagnosed because there are aspects of my personality which cause problems for me and my friends, and I don't understand the triggers for them. I'm hoping that finding out more about this condition, if indeed I have it, will allow me to control it better, or at least understand why I do some of the wierd things I do.

Free money's always nice tho.

Wanting to be diagnosed with autism is what makes you lose your decency. Autism isn't just some cool thing you should be able to label yourself as. It's a horrible disorder. I'm sure there are people here who are plenty offended that someone would want to be diagnosed with autism.
