I'm trying to run games of a USB external drive. I'm running haxchi and WUP Installer. I've been using USB helper to download games. Also I'm not sure how to add a ticket to the game or whatever. Sorry for posting this here, I'm super busy with work and all these post are with so little time is very daunting to me. I'n the past I've softmodded a bunch of consoles but it seems more complicated now and I also have less time these days. Anyways Wanted to pick your brain with the best method of playing games on an USB external HD

I just wanna play games! lol Any help is appreciated.

You're doing it the right way. You don't have to worry about tickets Wii u usb helper already includes them. You should have a folder with .app files and .tik etc....inside. Just make a folder on your sd card called install and move them there (folder included) then install with Wup Installer GX. It's pretty easy. Oh but if you ever are trying to install any of the following: out of region games, dlc, or virtual console games (i.e. wii, n64, snes, nes etc....) make sure you run CFW before you run Wup Installer. Other than that you should be good.

Since you didn't mention it just to make sure yes you need an sd card to install the games. Obviously it has to be big enough to carry the game to be installed via Wup Installer there are some Wii U games that are like 20 gb (i.e. Xenoblade Chronicles X) so you might want a 32 gb sd card.

Wii U is extremely easy compared to Xbox 360 for example where you have to open up the console and do modifications to it. All Nintendo consoles are easy compared to that because you're just softmodding it. Wii U if you've already got haxchi you've done the hardest part.

I have a 128GB memory card. But isnt there a limit on how big of a file I can put on since its formatted exfat? But also ultimately I want to put and run the games off of my external hardrive and not my SD. I think right now its formated NTFS. How should I format this? How do i accomplish playing backups on my external USB hard drive? I wanna play online games as well. Thanks!

You need to reformat the card to Fat32. Windows cannot do this you need a program like guiformat (google it)

You need the sd card to install the games to the external usb hard drive while both are connected to the Wii U. I'm repeating myself here you make a folder on your sd card call it install, and put the games you downloaded off Wii U Usb helper in the install folder on your sd card. Then you take the sd card put it in your Wii U open Wup installer and install the game(s). Don't make it harder than it needs to be that's all you have to do. You can play online with those games no problem.

Don't worry about file size limit, you format the sd card to Fat32 which has a 4 gb limit but the games files are divided into smaller files. They fit on the sd card just fine. Wii U has it's own file system so you don't need to worry about that on the Wii U either. It's not an issue.
