If you're on 5.2, use Mario Party 10 or Splatoon to update to 5.3.2 and you'll have a ton of options for running stuff.

If you update now, you lose out on some potentially useful exploits. You may need to update with a game later but for now your best option is to stay where you are until IOSU is released.

Use Mario Party 10 or Splatoon to update to 5.3.2 then you can run homebrew now.
@Team Fail mentioned this a few posts up also. It is a good idea

Use Mario Party 10 to update to 5.3.2, then either block system updates (and make SURE they are blocked) or remove all internet connection profiles. Then you can use exploits to do lots of cool stuff.
