Hardware Help identify leftover piece after repair

Recently did a center case swap (darn hinges) on my 3DS XL, which is an involved process. Ended up with an extra piece laying on my desk that had to have fallen out/off of something in it. Looked around but couldn't find where it went. The black part is rubberized and the clear part is somewhat translucent but still a bit opaque.

Any clue? Doesn't seem too important, but wanted to make sure. Can take better pics if necessary. Was in a hurry when I took them originally.

Test all of your buttons as it may be something related.

That looks like the LED diffuser.

It goes right next to where the hinge is.

Tested and working. Nothing seems out of whack.

I thought that at first, but checked and they're there. Both The hinge one and the power indicator below. All lights seem to be accounted for with their lenses/diffusers.

Attached image shows where I think youre talking about. The one in the hinge is a long stalk, whereas below it is a little stalk with plastic black piece to keep in place. (Ignore red box. I snagged this image from ifixit)

You are absolutely right! I didn't even realize there was a LED there. I was wondering why there was just a hole next to the camera.
