I dumped Bakugan Battle Brawlers and Bakugan Defenders of the Core and i'm trying to get the 3D Models from those games by the way.

You can use WiiScrubber to extract/import files single files.
You can also use Wit/wwt tools, but they are command line only.
another way is to do it on the console, with WiixPlorer you can browse your disc's content (if you have the disc, of course)

ah, sorry :P

So, you already have the bin files and you want to convert/open them in a program to view the models.
a lot of game uses the Szs format for 3D models/textures, there are programs used to open/edit them. maybe you can try one.
Look for Szs Modifier, or Szs tools.

But some games have proprietary format, and you'll need specific tools (maybe not written yet).
Sorry, I can't help more, I don't do game modding and model editing. Other users might help you.

".dat" is only an extension for a file.
it could be .bin or .great or .yohooo
the important thing is the format stored INSIDE that file.
if you rename a .zip to .dat, it's still a zip encryption, just named .dat

so, maybe the game use .dat for szs format, I don't know.
Or like I said, maybe that's a format coded by that game's developer specifically for this game's series, and you'll have to find a tool to read it. If nobody wrote a tool yet, someone will need to do file analysis to understand the format and extract or convert its content into another format.

Just a hint, the format is usually stored in the first byte of a file.
open the file in an hexeditor, and see if the file has any header or signature. (zip, jpeg, tiff, szs, u8, etc.)
