So I was using my 500gb exfat format microsd on my switch and used sxos cheat search function even when told too use a fat32 format micro sd. I searched for cheats anyways. It froze during some time searching for cheats, I waited about 5 hours just incase it needed more time to compare values but it never budged, I pressed the home button and went back into sxos but the whole switch screen turned white and I had to hard poweroff. Now some of my .xci files are white with no icon in the sxos menu and when I insert my micro sd into my pc my pc says there is something wrong with this storage device which it never said before.
I knew the risks when I did this. The only thing I really need help with is this. I've backed up the full micro sd now.
Is there a specific method that I should use to format my micro sd to get rid of some corrupted sectors or just anything bad that might need to be wiped in full? Should I just do a full format on it using the basic mypc, right click the sd, then do a full format, Or Instead maybe do something using disc management? Or should I use a program like EaseUS partition master and if so what settings?
I just want to know what the best way to go about formatting the micro sd card is so there is no corruption/errors on it anymore.
Thanks for any and all help provided.

here is a guide I have kinda memorized for any kind of flash media..

You will lose all data, but this is a pretty thorough way to do it.

Like mentioned above there's no half way of going about it you're going to have to start all over by formatting to Fat32 which will wipe everything. You were smart to back everything up though it'll be a lot easier process.

if the card is greater than 32 gb you will not be able to format with your PC to Fat32. There are plenty of good programs though that can. I use EaseUS. GUIFormat is also good.

Ok thanks guys, but besides cheat searching being better on fat32 why is exfat not recommended?

Because corruption can happen on exfat for any homebrew not just cheats. You could be installing a game for example and it corrupts your card. No corruptoin on Fat32 but you will have to learn to install through usb games over 4 gb due to Fat32 4 gb limit. It is not hard, and there's no other limitations on Fat32.

Ok thanks for that info, and thanks to everyone else. This is probably a stupid question but is their a way to close this thread now?
