Hacking [HELP] First Time 3DS Buyer

Hello guys, it is my first time getting a DS console and I got the "New" 3DS XL one. I want to get a Supercard DSTWO Plus because my main goal is to play both NDS and 3DS games.

My problem is that most of the information I've been reading is kinda dated.

Here's my current situation:

• New 3DS XL
• Firmware: 9.9.0-26U

Goal:

• Play NDS and 3DS games using a flash card

Issues:

• I'm looking at DSTWO+ because I will only need 1 card, whereas if I get an R4 3DS for NDS games and Sky3DS+ for 3DS games I would be getting 2 cards and I don't want that.
• The issue is that DSTWO+ only supports up to 9.2 for the firmware and I'm already at 9.9 when I bought the console.
• I've read that DSTWO+ isn't ideal since it uses a pirated Gateway software and that it could brick my console because of malicious code in it.

I'm so confused and I don't know where to start. Could anyone provide me with an updated solution? I don't want to brick my console and I have no idea what to do.

Your best choice is to downgrade to 9.2. You can get any 3ds/GBA/etc game on a CFW on 9.2. A DSTWO isnt really needed outside of playing DS games since a CFW can do anything else better.

DsTwo+ has lead to many bricks, because it steals gateways code
I would reccomend a $5 R4i, and setting up CFW

Would I be able to play both NDS and 3DS games using R4i?

No but you can play any 3ds game on a CFW

So basically, the R4i is meant for NDS games and the CFW is for the 3DS games? Is that correct?
Why can't a CFW play NDS games? Because if it can it would save me from buying a card then.

TWL_firm (Ds games) is being worked on, no set releases for anything, but sometime cfw should also allow ds games.

Because a CFW is just a patch that makes your system not check if a game was legally bought or not. Since no DS games can be installed to the system it doesn't matter, but any 3ds game can.

CFW lets you install all 3DS games/homebrw
R4i lets you play DS games.
At the moment, TWL(DS) Mode hacking is just starting, but you can pick up an R4i for cheap anyways.

With the new Patch twl while using a r4 cia launcher allows you to use old r4"s like the original ones that don't even work on the dsi! And their each like $4 now
