Help Extracting Text from PC Game

I don't post much on this forum, so I apologise if I posted this in the wrong place.

I got Legend of Heroes IV for Windows PC, and I was trying to find if there was a way to extract the script from the game so I could try my hand at translating it. But looking into the program files, they are mostly .DAT files which I have no idea how to get the text from, even after hours of googling..

Would anyone be able to offer help/tips on how to extract the script from this game? Sorry if I'm not giving enough information, because I have next to zero knowledge in computers and can't seem to figure anything out. Any help or even tips on where to start would be great.
