Well i'm currently looking for a new slot-1 flashcard because my old one broke.
To me not only features are important but also the DLDI performance for homebrew!!

I haven't found any speed test results of all the major cards, so I'm asking for help from YOU!

So here's a homebrew app that writes and reads 8 Megabytes with DLDI and measures the time.
Can everyone please try it with their card and post the results along with the card's name?
That would be great!

Results also depend on your memory card!! But it would still help to get a general idea of card's write/read speeds!

This is what the app looks like:

Thanks

There's already a speed tester app made by Tepples, and the only real result to note is that the Games N Music is 4 times slower than any other cart. Beyond that I don't think it will really matter too much, except possibly in something like Quake DS.

oh there is? i didn't know. where can i see all the results?

reading may be fast for all of them, but not writing... which is what i need.
from what i know, the original R4DS can write at around 3 MB/s, while acekard2 and CycloDS can both write at only around 0.3 MB/s.
I'm looking for a new card that is about as fast as good old R4DS.

I'll add mine.

Writing: 2.00MB/s
Reading: 2.67MB/s

Original R4 with a 1GB Nokia Japan-manufactured card. Hope that helps

Thanks!
Yeah, R4 is the fastest I know. This proves it just another time.

However, you can no longer buy original R4s, so I hope there will be even more results from people who own different flash carts!

Why do you want fast writing? I mean, waiting a little longer to write your ROMs or whatever you want, beats having slowdowns and/or freezes on some games. I really think its best to look for faster reading speeds and not writing speeds.

It can be important if you want to do things like taking debug snapshots etc. of your homebrew game... I don't want to wait forever.

I highly appreciate any results from you guys! Please...
