im unsure i did this one a while ago how do i find out if ive already have those 2?

currently i have a FBI on the home menu and i have the Freeshop app along with a bunch of other games i own.

I'm 99% sure you have an EmuNAND then. Wouldn't hurt for you to hunt around and know exactly what you got, look at some of the contents in SD card.

What folders do you have under "Nintendo 3DS"?

You will have to start from the begginging: https://plailect.github.io/Guide/get-started

im currently here: https://plailect.github.io/Guide/installing-arm9loaderhax

Update your 3DS again by going to System Settings, then “Other Settings”, then going all the way to the right and using “System Update”
  • Yes this is safe, stop asking about it.
  • If this gives you an error, set your DNS settings to “auto”
  • If this still gives you an error, restore your NAND backup before updating

...

it gave me an error when trying to update... my DNS is on auto what does it mean "restore your NAND backup before updating"...

What firmware are you on 2.1? If so boot into hourglass9 and restore 9.2 NAND backup, then update via system settings.

No you can system update now, the 9.2 was to allow you to do a system update.
