PS1/2 HDloader - will it play CD games ?

Hi all,
I am using winhiip (great program)to put games on hard drive only done DVD games so far. have ready up but see confusing information.
Can I load CD games ?
Do I need to covert them to Image files ?
is there a minimum size the game must be to work ?

Pretty sure I need to covert to image file which is no problem but some post suggest not all cd games will work and need to be above a certain size?

I don't remember ever having a problem with putting cd based games on my PS2's HDD with winhiip.
As with all PS2 titles run from HDD, there will always be some titles that have issues or just flat out refuse to work though.

IIRC I've used CDs just fine subject to the usual compatibility issues and size doesn't matter, although I would consider switching to OPL.

While very slow, most games can also be installed to hdd from the PS2's own dvd drive.
But AFAIK that method doesn't work for dual layer DVD9 games.

CD´s works,you´ve only make an ISO File not Bin/Cue.About Dual Layer Games you can use the DL Patcher on the ISO before use it in Winhiip (google to "ps2 dual layer patcher").I remember that Gran Turismo 4 and Guitar Hero Metallica are DVD9.For CD Games I remember Half Life,F1 2000/2001,Star Trek Encounters,Ridge Racer V and Fifa 2002 works.

FYI you can even run PSX games from the HDD thanks to POPStarter

Winhiip accepts bin/cue files. No need to convert.

If CD games won't save from the disc drive to the hard drive then it might be the laser. I have the same problem with my fat PS2. It won't read CD games but reads DVD games with no issues.
