HCStealth: "- For me, exiting seems to frequently cause the Homebrew Launcher to act as if there's no SD card when you return to it. I have no idea why"

You likely just need to update your homebrew menu or/and ctrulib as 99% of SD reading issues have been fixed.
That actually seems to have been the problem, so, I guess it wasn't even affecting most people. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

As I responded on the official forum, I'm actually in the middle of updating, so I'll have to take care of it on the next release. Also, I'm not aware of a way to determine the filename or anything else uniquely identifiable for any particular instance of an individual program using that method, so it would probably be limited to using the launcher to run any game from the HCGE folder instead of allowing standalone packaging for individual games. This would be achievable with the .3dsx file simply by renaming it and putting it in a different folder

----

On a related subject, I'm attempting to assemble and train a team of developers dedicated to learning to use HCGE and using it to create a game project. Please read this blog post very carefully for more details

Feel free to ask any questions you may have; I'll be happy to discuss aspects of HCGE or this project with anyone who is interested before they officially apply, as it will be important for you to understand what you're signing up for

If you'd like to help but don't feel like actively participating, please help to spread the word by sharing the blog post and/or this tweet

Thank you very much for your interest!

lol im dying to try this i just dont want to use ninjahax im specifically interested in trying the example sonic game =P

I've seen this engine before; it used to be called E02. I remember playing around in the level editor back when it was just called "Project Mettrix". Not a fan anymore after hearing about the "packing" function. Especially when you say its purpose isn't just DRM but also to prevent "cheating". If someone wants to cheat in a single-player game that's nobody's business but that player. Same with modifying game content. (Distributing modified content is different; then it's reasonable if the game developer wants to set limits.)

Also Stealth: I have a disassembler, and I know how to use it. :)

I agree that DRM is dumb, but remember it's also optional.
Keep in mind many users are stupid and think someone will try to steal their shitty works, so they focus more on protecting it than improving its quality.
He must keep that feature if he wants his engine to be successful.

It being optional doesn't help me one bit if a game I want to download is only available in packed form. If I'm playing a singleplayer game, I can change whatever I want.

HCStealth - is the development on this 3DS port of your engine still progressing? It has been a while since you released HC for the 3DS, and there have been quite a few updates to ctrulib and ninjhax in that time. Could there now be a way to, perhaps, add stability or to get sound working smoothly on this 3DS port?

Also, how dependent is this on ninjhax and the .3dsx format? Will this run equally well if it were to be compiled as a .cia or .elf?

Definitely added to my watch list and i would like to be part of the team dedicated to learning to use HCGE
