It's been driving me crazy that I can't save a couple of games; the new Coraline game and Sonic Chronicles : The Dark Brotherhood. When I want to save it a message pops up and says; "The save data could not be accessed. Please turn the power off and reinsert the DS card."

I've installed the latest update and the cheats but to no avail..

I dunno if I installed the update correctly. I'm on a Mac so when I extract the firmware, I just drag and drop it into the SD folder. I have no idea where the root of the SD card is, so can anyone help me? Please?

Thank you!

I'm no guru, but saw you have no replies

When you are moving the edge.dat etc over to the memory card, the root is just the first space you see.
(There should be no folder to start with)

If your other games save ok, maybe you have a problem with these two roms.
I don't know about Coraline, but there is no problem playing the Sonic game on Edge
I would look for other roms of these games.

If that doesn't work, there is a possibility that your memory card is corrupted, in which case you'll have to reformat it and reload the Edge OS and your games.

Hope that helps

Make sure you have enough space on the card to make the saves. Each save file is 512kb, if you have less than that then you'll get that error message.

Its not the emmc but the SD card reader itself.
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
never did any modding or anything before and now it's to the internet for solutions.
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
So how "easy" of a fix is that?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Only other option is maybe your SD card has failed. Maybe try another SD card and see if does the same, if so then you know it mechanical issue.

Recheck your soldering could have a loose connection use your phones zoom in camera
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
@BigOnYa I was able to pull all the data off my SD card onto my computer.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    No soldering used ken

every picture and video seems good,
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Try a dif SD card in the Switch, if still problematic, then its the switch, not a SD card.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If you not using a emunand, you can just copy all content from orig SD card to another, if orig not corrupted.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You can even not copy over the "Nintendo" folder to save time and just to test.
    +1
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
@BigOnYa I did exactly that i copied my entire SD card, I'll see if I can find another to test but since i get the black screen and can't start it normally with or without the SD card in, im concerned.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Did you have AutoRCM enabled in Hekate?
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
I dunno, the black screen was before i did anything to the switch.
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
It would still be seen by my pc as APX but not turn the screen on.
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
    "AutoRCM" is off.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea I don't know then sorry. Sounds like something wrong with the switch itself. (Corrupted Nand maybe). Sorry to hear and good luck with.
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
Yeah that's what i am worried about, since I just randomly plugged it into my pc yesterday to charge and after a few connect/disconnect sounds in my headphones, i look over ' see a brief error message ' then now it won start up normal.
  • SirAkivar @ SirAkivar:
That's when i started messing with all the hekate / tegra rcm gui stuffs.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Do you have a full Nand backup? Will be about 32gb in size. Restoring it maybe an option. I'd just ask in the forums, we've already spent to much time here in chat talking bout it.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Damn that's sad.
