Hello everyone,

I've been roaming the net for about a total of 4 or 5 hours total at this point, and I'm about at my end.
Long story short, bought a Wii from someone for forty bucks with a disc stuck in the tray. I easily could open it and get it out which I do plan to do sooner or later, but for now, my intention was to mod and play backups via usb. Having way more trouble than I should be lol.

I've installed HBC/Bootmii.
I've installed IOS236, I've installed all sorts of dx2 revisions on 247,248,249,250.
I've got two loaders, CFG and DX. Neither are working right.
I've made all sorts of progress but I am just not sure what's going wrong.

When I open CFG, and I pick a game (on a usb, in wbfs format, labeled and organized properly) I can even hear the little sound the game plays...then if I say launch, it's a no-go. It just gets stuck on booting game please wait. Every time, every game.

The games I'm working with right now are Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 8, and Twilight Princess.

At this point I've not got one of them to work and I'm starting to feel defeated, which is rare for me in this field lol...so I come to you fine folks.

Has anyone else ever had this hard of a time, and what can you think of I might be doing wrong? Thanks for helping :)

it's your ios80
it has no patches
you need to rehack your wii
try modmii in hacking section

Yay! Thank you for the direction -- should I be safe to continue with that after what I've done thus far? Or would I be better off trying to return everything back to normal before proceeding with modmii??

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

On the go tho I meant, I use my tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes.
