Latest hack works still for latest version 3.70.

Downgrading is possible from 3.70 to whatever you want within reason. I recommend 3.60.

Nope, but all free PSP games have been removed from the store. Be prepared to spend $10 minimum if you want hax.

No, I'm pretty sure I used a PSP demo recently to hack my PSTV, and it worked just fine.

why do you recommend this over 3.70?

the one i bought is on 3.55 but probably going to update to 3.60 and stay, when it arrives

3.70 can't use enso, 3.55 is more compatible for homebrew & can also run games made for later firmware.

    I've ended up on 3.55

3.55 is better than 3.60? and Enso = cfw remains in place with a reboot, is that the main perk? is there an advantage to going with something that isn't configured like that, for safety purposes, or nah?

haha I'm just trying to figure out what version is a good one , thx...

I have to do some research on this, as I know nothing about it!

Don't worry about it much. Enso is a permanent hack, so when you turn off the vita, not just in sleep mode but really turning it off and turn it on, it will load the cfw. For other people like me, I prefer the h-encore, which is not the permanent hack. So if I turn the device on after it's completely turned off, it will load the official firmware. To enable the hack, I have to start the h-encore app and withing a few seconds the cfw is enabled. 3.55 is not something we've seen a lot here. The most populair are the 3.60 and 3.65. The 3.60 is the webbrowser exploit and how it works, I have no idea because my psvita was on 3.65 which there was no hack for it. Anyway, you can still downgrade from 3.60 to 3.55 if you want. But one thing is for certain: 3.60 and 3.65 are very fine.

is one method (permanent cfw w enso) vs per user enabling with h-encore.. with option to stock firmware boot, more safe for psn, etc or are they the same?

sounds like 3.60 process is pretty easy?

and is it true I lose all gamesaves going stock to cfw, process?

if so I'm wondering if I should mod mine off the bat, I generally like to do it with systems after a grace period on stock though.. just to get familiar

Well, I prefer non-permanent cfw. Sometimes when I mess something up, which I did in the past. the device got stuck, like I couldn't do anything. i had to pull out the memcard to make the device shut off and it loaded the stock fw all fine without a problem. And besides, maybe it's my OCD? I just want the stock and the hack in one place lol. I have a psvita with a perfect oled screen and I don't wanna mess this one up.

Search for horror stories to "enso_ex" here on the forum for the giggles. Too many stories about how they have bricked their device.
Of course the enso_ex is for advanced users and they know how. The regular enso are for non-experienced users.

The regular enso is for people who wants the permanent hack. The h-encore is for me to stay very much safe lol. They have the same benefits.
However, when I had 3.65, there was no hack for it. So as soon as the hack was released last year, I stood on 3.65 and never looked back to which cfw I need. It works all fine.

I have no idea regarding the savegames but if you have savegames from downloaded non-PSN games, you would't be able to load the progress. Games you bought from PSN wouln't matter as the purchased games should work on cfw too.

What? No it isn't. All homebrew is designed for 3.60 (unless it specifically isn't, like newer Vitacheat versions), anything working with 3.55 is complete coincidence since there's no reason to use it over 3.60.
Nope, it has no advantages, the main downside is nobody has ported Enso because there would be no reason to do so since 3.55 is worthless compared to 3.60. 3.60 was the only hackable firmware for quite a while, 3.55 actually got its exploit (memekaku, because you'd only hack one on a worse firmware for a meme) way after even 3.68.
Nope. You can hold L while turning the console on to disable plugins in case you install a bad one, and absolute worst case if you corrupt some system files you can just reinstall the firmware with no losses.
They're the exact same, but non-Enso takes longer every time you turn the console on.
Absolutely not, I can't even find anything that says you would.
Yes, there's no reason to not have a hacked Vita, especially if you want to use an SD2Vita since they're so much cheaper than official memory cards.

Thanks and is there a recommended sd2vita adapter or most on eBay are fine?

Same with microSD? if I chose like a sandisk I’ll be ok?

Do I need a vita 1000 cable w proprietary adapter or the included charger is to usb-a, for backing up games to computer and transferring to sd2vita?

Do all this and spoof version and should be good to install stuff to sd2vita legit from psn with no issue?

Can I also set up sd2vita down the road after modding (without having sd2vita adapter on hand) just fine without an issue?

    Thanks

The V5 is recommended for Slim models.
Not necessarily, fake SD cards are common online. If you buy something from amazon make sure it has the amazon's choice thing on it, or just go to an electronics store and buy one there. I really would not recommend getting one from somewhere like ebay.
No, slim Vitas are 2000s, they don't even have a port for the 1000's cable. Almost any cable with the right end will work for a Slim.
    Yep.

And if my 1000 includes original charger cable does that have usb on other end or is it a cable attached to the wall adapter ? Do u know?
