Hacking Have some questions about a new3ds, hardmodding to 9.2 or using https://3ds.guide/

Hi,
I have a few questions about using a hardmod to downgrade to 9.2 on a new3ds (from 11.0.0-33U) or using the guide on https://3ds.guide/ to downgrade to firmware 2.1 and luma3ds.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but hardmodding down to 9.2 grants you the dynarec ability which can help boost performance on the gpsp, pcsx, and the virtual boy emulator.

I'm curious as to what kind of performance boosts you get in those 3 emulators. Right now with pcsx most ps1 games cap out at 13fps on my new3ds with fw 11.0. In gpsp most games run fine but the 3d games like Duke Nukem Advance run between 10-15fps. Virtual Boy games run at around 15fps. What kind of performance boosts do you see going to FW 9.2 on those numbers?

This leads me to my next question, if I use the guide at https://3ds.guide/ which downgrades me to FW 2.1, do I still get Dynarec in those 3 emulators, or is Dynarec only on FW 9.0-9.2?

Another question - if I use the https://3ds.guide/, I can load VC injected GBA roms. Do those run natively at full speed or are they still being run using emulation? I know the old DS had the GBA hardware in it for backwards compatibility, does the new3ds have this?

Use the 3ds.guide. It will have all the functions you are asking for. And read thr guide closely and ask if there is something you think is confusing.

Following the https://3ds.guide/ guide only downgrades your 3DS temporarily. By the end of the guide, you should have A9LH and Luma3DS installed, and you should also be on 11.2 by the end of the guide.

You also don't need a hardmod anymore to follow the guide. You're going to use the Nintendo 3DS Sound app.

Just do the guide. At this point it does the exact same thing as a hardmod, and if you care you can go to 9.2 with the guide. The only reason why people hardmod is if they brick. If you follow the guide, you will get brick protection without a hardmod by installing arm9loaderhax. Worse comes to worse and you brick using the guide(highly unlikely at this point) you can just hardmod it to recover it

So just to confirm, the 3ds-guide dumps me down to FW 2.1 temporarily then restores me back to whatever FW I had before, which would be 11.0?

Also, when it dumps me back to 11.0, does it enable Dynarec for those emulators even though I'm not on 9.2?

You can safely update to the last version right now (11.2.0), then when you have to restore from 2.1.0, you will be there again.
