Here's some nice news for you. Three devs have completed their decompilation of Harvest Moon 64.

This game was a personal favorite for me, back in the day. I've always heard that it doesn't emulate properly, so I'd be interested to see if a native PC port appears somewhere down the line.

In related news, the Silent Hill decompilation project has reached 81.37%!

I apologize for double posting, but I've been reading some reactions online. To be honest, it's been a long time since I booted up Harvest Moon 64, but some of the comments have been jogging my memory.

For example, I do remember there being typos all over the English script. I remember the draw distance being less than the screen width, so many of the roofs of the houses would noticeably spawn in as you moved around.

In particular, the in-game timer really did race. As a kid, I recall how I felt like I had to really focus on the farming because there was no time to explore the town, mountain, and outskirts. I think this was somewhat leveraged by the fact that there weren't many places to go, but still, if you had to see someone, you had to hotfoot it every time.

Harvest Moon 64 does seem to have a decent number of fans, so it'll be interesting to see if anyone ports or adds quality of life features to the game.

Because I mentioned it in the original post, I want to give an update on the Silent Hill decompilation: 85.01%

Oh this is sick. This was one of my favorite games for a long time. I've been bouncing between Archipelago games for the last two months as if a pair of kittens were playfully yet purposefully batting me around like a ball of yarn. This would make a perfect compliment to the PC ports of OoT, MM, and SM64 that are already in archipelago. Let's go!

Another bad year of source port decompilation entires, for those who do not enjoy our happiness.
