Gaming Hardware Recs?

Well, right now I'm thinking of upgrading parts of my PC and i really need some recommendations because there is a lot of stuff out in the market and i don't know whats good and whats bad right now.

What I'm looking to replace:

Video Card: I currently have GeForce 8500GT
CPU: I have a crap intel single core 3.0ghz (CPU has to be Intel Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo)
RAM: I only have 1GB of ram looking to add more, my motherboard supports DDR2 667/533/400 DDR2 SDRAM max 4GBs

Price has to be reasonable, i don't have much spending cash this week and possibly if i can get everything off of canadacomputers.com or tigerdirect.ca or Canadian stores like bestbuy or future shop that would be great.

Little more information would help like how much you want to spend on each part and what motherboard you have.

gaming mostly, as for price 100-200 for the CPU and if possible no more than around 150 for the video card, i can probably take care of the RAM on my own

E8400+GTS250 and you're set.

EDIT: Make sure your PSU can support that.
