Hacking Hardware or software mod will cause problems to 4.82 cfw

Hi guys!
Im removing the dust from my ps3 slim 2k with 4.6 firmware(if im not wrong).
I payed 1-2 years ago to mod it, but I dont remember if it was a hardware or software mod.
I want to update it to the new cfw 4.82, will it be ok i I just update and follow the instructions or will there be a problem if I dont know which mod was.

There's no chip for the PS3 unless you mean ODE or downgrader, as long as it's already on CFW you can always install a newer one manually, you could even update to official 4.82 and start fresh via PS3Xploit if you wanted lol
